Photo radar in Canmore is going to be used a little bit differently than it is in major cities.

Instead of using radar to ticket speeders, RCMP in the mountain town west of Calgary will also use it to reward law-abiding drivers.

Beginning in March, license plates recorded by photo radar going under the speed limit will be entered in a draw. Every week, one driver will win a $250 gift certificate to a Canmore business of their choice.
